I’m running for the position of Republican Precinct State Delegate in our OR03 precinct caucus meeting at Foothill Elementary School on March 20th at 7:00 p.m, and I would appreciate your vote!
This is a two-year position that takes a fair amount of time — hundreds of hours if done properly. It would be my job to represent our precinct at the Republican nominating and organizing conventions. Before those conventions convene, I promise to review all candidates, read their promotional materials, and attend meet-the-candidate gatherings. I also pledge to listen to you and our other neighbors to discover our precinct’s political perspectives and opinions so that I can represent the majority of our neighbors and elect candidates that represent our philosophies. As I undergo this process, I promise to publish what I learn here, on my personal blog: NathanBryce.com.
Politically speaking, I am a conservative that cherishes the libertarian principles enumerated by our founders in our inspired founding documents. That means I yearn for a limited federal government — not the expanded progressive version we have experienced since 1913. Therefore, the nationally-known Republicans whose leadership I currently trust and follow are Mike Lee, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz. That’s about it. I am also a supporter of the Tea Party movement, FreedomWorks, and watch The Blaze network as often as possible.
I believe all political power should be limited and localized; that individuals, families, and their neighborhoods have the moral responsibility to govern themselves by correct principles if they desire to experience maximum freedom. I am in favor of term limits, a flat tax, far fewer laws, and as few government programs, employees, and beneficiaries as possible.
I believe the values and virtues which turn ordinary people into great Americans are honesty, reverence, hope, thrift, humility, charity, sincerity, moderation, hard work, courage, personal responsibility, and gratitude. Nothing is more important to me than improving my relationship with God, with my family, and with everyone I have the honor to meet — in that order.
